Our horses have good temperaments, they are well turned out (even hoof-oiled), with good quality tack that is clean and well maintained. Rides are mostly on the Watermeadows and off main roads, delightfully picturesque in all seasons of the year.

Before your first lesson or ride a “Rider Registration Form” has to be filled in so it is advisable to arrive 30 minutes before your first lesson or hack out. If you have not hacked out with us before, your riding ability has to be assessed. We need to be clear about your level of experience, so that we can match you to the right horse. No one will ride at a pace or tackle obstacles that are beyond them.

As a starting guide for hacking out, our basic requirement is that you can mount up, apply the commands for walk, trot and halt and have control and balance at these paces. The more experienced riders can expect a good varied ride covering all paces.

One to one lessons are available and may benefit novices or rusty riders prior to going on a hack.
